Bill seeks greater accountability from large AI companies on child safety

UTAH STATE CAPITOL—With the rise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), a bill is making its way through the legislature addressing its safety for children. Rep. Doug Fiefia, R-Herriman, is sponsoring H.B. 286 the Artificial Intelligence Transparency Act which would require the largest AI companies to provide more transparency on how they manage AI’s risk to children and the public. Fiefia presented his bill to the House Economic Development and Workforce Services Committee on Jan. 27.
