Church commits $65 million to global Caring for Women and Children Initiative
Organizations that have joined in this effort are CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Helen Keller International, The Hunger Project, iDE, Save the Children and Vitamin Angels.
SALT LAKE CITY—The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson and other church leaders announced at a media event on Aug. 7, a funding commitment by the church of more than $65 million to the Caring for Women and Children Initiative Consortium that has improved the well-being of 52 million women and children in Africa and Asia over the past three years since it began. This brings the total investment by the church to the initiative to more than $184 million.
